Lukas Kahlen has over ten years of experience in international climate and development cooperation. His work focuses on climate finance, climate diplomacy and sustainable development. He provides analytical and strategic support to governments and international organisations on aligning climate action with development priorities, including through the development of investment plans, decarbonisation strategies and governance reforms. -He has managed projects in Latin America, East Africa and South-East Asia. His work also includes contributing to the EU’s evolving climate diplomacy agenda and advising on the integration of climate objectives into foreign policy domains. Previously, Lukas worked at MicroEnergy International, supporting financial institutions worldwide in designing and implementing green energy loan programs, and at the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). He holds a Master’s degree in International and Development Economics from the University of Applied Science Berlin and a BA in Economics and Regional Studies of Ibero-America from the University of Duisburg-Essen.
