Judit Hecke works primarily on issues related to development and climate as well as tracking climate action. Her main area of expertise is the energy transition with a regional focus on Southeast Asia. She has also been particularly engaged in sectoral analyses to assess needed shifts to achieve the Paris Agreement with an emphasis on the transport sector and serves as a long-standing country lead for the Climate Action Tracker, where she quantifies countries’ policies and projects GHG emission trajectories. Prior to working at NewClimate Institute, Judit specialised on Ocean Energy at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and worked as a research assistant at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Judit holds a B.Sc. in Energy Systems Engineering from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and an M.Sc. in Energy, Society and Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh.
