Dr. Janna Hoppe focuses on tracking countries’ progress towards net-zero emissions by assessing mitigation actions, climate policies, and key drivers of greenhouse gas emissions. Before joining NewClimate, Janna worked at the climate policy think tank Agora Energiewende, where she focused on decarbonisation efforts in the German buildings sector. Prior to that, she was a doctoral researcher at ETH Zurich, where she examined the effectiveness of different mitigation policies and public support for the phase-out of carbon-intensive technologies in demand sectors. Janna holds a MSc in Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management from the Erasmus Mundus programme MESPOM  and a BSc in Sustainable Management from the Technical University of Berlin.
