The Climate Contribution Hub is an open-access platform that provides step-by-step guidance to help businesses and civil society organisations measure and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and implement climate contributions. The user can follow the methodology step by step on the website and learn how to reduce emissions and support meaningful climate action.
The guidance especially focuses on small and medium-sized organisations with less complex emission profiles that have limited resources to develop their own responsible climate strategy. Users can freely apply and adapt the guidance to their own situation.
Guidance documents
The approach consists of six steps to guide and encourage ambitious organisations to decarbonise while also taking responsibility for the damage caused by ongoing emissions. This is done by financing climate action beyond their value chain to support global goals.
Step 1: Collecting data and measuring emissions
Step 2: Setting emission reduction targets and Taking measures to reduce emissions
Step 3: Setting a carbon fee and Guidance on scope coverage
Step 4: Channelling the contribution budget and Defining project preferences
Step 5: Mainstreaming climate contributions
Step 6: Reporting template and Communicating transparently
The Climate Contribution Hub is set up by NewClimate Institute with initial support from the Allianz Foundation.
