Silke Mooldijk joined NewClimate Institute as Climate Policy Analyst in August 2019. Her work focuses on carbon market mechanisms and tracking climate action in the aviation sector.
Prior to joining NewClimate Institute, Silke worked for eclareon GmbH where she was responsible for the analysis and assessment of renewable energy policies in Belgium and the Netherlands. She gained further professional experience in Turkey, where she worked for a local youth organisation, and as legal assistant at the Dutch Council for Refugees.
Silke holds a BA in Global Justice from Leiden University College The Hague, an LLM in Global Environment and Climate Change Law from the University of Edinburgh, and an MSc in Climate Studies from Wageningen University. Her MSc thesis, which she developed in collaboration with NewClimate Institute, assessed the suitability of Paris Agreement Article 6 finance for different GHG mitigation measures.
