Jan-Luka Scheewel works on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of national climate policies. Prior to joining NewClimate Institute, he worked as an intern at the German Bundestag supporting members of the parliament on social policy. During his studies, Jan-Luka specialised in econometrics and methods applied to economic policy and environmental economics. His expertise includes using data-driven approaches for policy evaluation, assessing policy impacts on global warming and identifying cost-effective mitigation pathways. In his master thesis, he built a forecasting tool using advanced methods based on administrative data to evaluate real-state property values. Jan-Luka holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Münster and a BSc in Economics from the University of Cologne, including studies abroad at University of Clermont Auvergne in France and Warsaw School of Economics in Poland.
