This side event, organised by the Net Zero Tracker consortium and the Under2 Coalition (The Climate Group), discussed the global net zero status, reflecting on the UNSG’s Net Zero Progress report, with a focus on subnational governments. We dived into questions such as: How can good practices be accelerated to align with UN guidelines for credible net zero targets? How can regions exceed national targets to propel climate action?
