In a consortium led by the Finnish outfit GAIA and with the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) NewClimate Institute carried out a study on behalf of the Nordic Working Group for Global Climate Change Negotiations (NOAK) to identify how Nordic institutions can best contribute to mobilising climate finance for developing countries to support the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
The study mapped current financial support in the context of finance needs communicated through the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) to identify potential support gaps where Nordic financial institutions can add value. A key part of the project was to look into good practice of climate finance focussing in particular on the experiences of Nordic financial institutions and effective ways to mobilise the private sector.
