NewClimate Institute supported the development of the second National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) of Lebanon. The support was provided under the EU funded MED-ENEC Programme which aims to increase the use of Energy Efficiency measures and Renewable Energy systems in buildings in southern and eastern Mediterranean countries. The second Lebanese NEEAP is modelled on the EU NEEAPs and seeks to drive energy efficiency across all key economic sectors. Lebanon is one of the front runners in the region, having been the first MENA country to publish and implement a NEEAP.
Support for this project was provided in the form of developing and delivering a one day workshop involving government and non-government stakeholders to discuss and prioritise energy efficiency actions and measures.
