Lotta Hambrecht works on projects at the intersection of climate and sustainable development, assessing the impacts of climate measures and decarbonisation pathways through quantitative and qualitative assessments. Prior to joining NewClimate Institute, she worked as an economist at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), focussing on the technical implementation of carbon pricing and energy taxation, both within countries and in the context of international trade. Lotta holds an MSc in Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh. For her Master's thesis, written in collaboration with NewClimate Institute, she modelled the employment impacts of energy transition scenarios in the context of Indonesia's Just Energy Transition Partnership.
