Swithin Lui has been a climate policy analyst at NewClimate Institute since 2018, working on topics across development and tracking climate action. He supports national governments on climate planning and processes in multiple regions, focusing on implementing low-carbon policies to achieve NDC and Agenda 2030 targets, and facilitating political ambition on long-term energy transitions. He also serves as a country lead for the Climate Action Tracker to quantify countries’ GHG emission trajectories and is a core member of teams working on climate governance and non-state action.

Previously, Swithin worked as a research analyst collaborating with scientists, NGOs, and academics across Southeast Asia to influence public policy issues concerning land-use change, urban planning and natural resource management.

Swithin holds a MSc in Environmental Economics and Climate Change from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a background in the atmospheric and oceanic sciences.
