Keno Riechers is a climate policy analyst at NewClimate Institute. He joined the team in October 2017 after a three months internship. In his work, he has focussed on quantitative assessments of socio economic co-benefits associated with climate change mitigation action, technical implications of the Energy Transition, increasing ambition under NDCs and country specific financial/technology risk assessments.
Holding a master’s degree in physics from the University of Hamburg, he is equipped with quantitative analytical skills and familiar with sophisticated modelling. During his studies he worked at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology. His international experience comprises a five-month internship in Burkina Faso, where he analysed the performance of small scale photovoltaic systems. Furthermore, he lived in Paraguay and Nicaragua.
