Julie Emmrich is a climate policy analyst at NewClimate Institute focusing on development and energy transition policy analysis and climate finance. She has experience in the finance and energy industry with a focus on renewable energy and climate policy. Her current research includes analysing the co-benefits of climate action, measuring climate finance and assessing governance structures. Julie has studied and worked in several countries including Finland, South Korea, Austria, and Germany.
Prior to joining NewClimate Institute she worked for a think tank on sustainable financing models and policies with a focus on the German building sector. Julie holds an MSc. in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management from the Erasmus Mundus Program MESPOM and a B.B.A. in International Business with a major in Finance and Financial Management from Arcada UAS (Helsinki, Finland) and Kyung Hee University (Seoul, South Korea). Julie joined the NewClimate Institute team in September 2018 and is based in Cologne.
