Anna Nilsson works on tracking climate mitigation actions and sustainable development related topics. She has been particularly engaged in bottom-up modelling and scenario analysis, developing mitigation scenarios at the sectoral level. Her current work focuses on tracking global and non-state climate action with an emphasis on the heavy industry sector. Additional areas of expertise include green hydrogen and low-carbon heating with a regional focus on East Asia. Prior to joining NewClimate Institute, she has worked with the WRI on the inter-linkage between energy access and socio-economic development in East Africa. She also worked with REN21 on renewable energy policies based in Paris, France. Anna holds a MSc in Energy Systems Analysis and a BSc in Energy and Environmental Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden, with parts taken at Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA), Argentina.
